Regular visits to the dentist are super important to keep our teeth looking great!

Hey, you know what? Regular visits to the dentist aren't just for fixing cavities, they're there to help you have healthy teeth for life! Even while you're a kid. How do we do that?

  • We detect problems quickly: If you go for regular checkups, your dentist will quickly notice if something is "simmering" - say, the beginning of caries or if your teeth are growing a little "out of place". Better sooner than later, right?

  • Prevention is the law: Your dentist will teach you how to brush your teeth properly and what to eat to keep your teeth healthy. It's like a "superpower" against cavities!

  • Your dentist knows you: If you go to the same dentist, they will get to know you well and will know what is best for you, what you like and don't like. And you will be less afraid because you will already know them.

  • We monitor the growth of teeth: The dentist watches how your teeth and jaw grow. If something is wrong, he can take quick action.

How "cool" does a dentist have to be?

  • Kind and patient: He must take his time with you, explain everything to you clearly, and comfort you if you are afraid or unfamiliar with something. Sometimes, if something doesn't work out, don't panic, let's try another time.

  • It should be fun: A visit to the dentist should not be a "torment", but something that is not terrible. If you are diligent enough, you get a small gift.

  • Encouragement is key: Your dentist should praise you for your good brushing skills and motivate you to continue taking care of your teeth.

What was it like "in my time" and what is it like "today"?

So, if your parents used to be afraid of the dentist when they were little, that doesn't mean you have to be too. Today, everything is much better and kinder to teeth and to us. Procedures are more comfortable, less painful, and we focus more on preventing problems before they occur.

What is most important for healthy teeth?

  • Brushing: At least twice a day, morning and evening, with fluoride toothpaste, for a long enough time.

  • Interdental cleaning: To remove food debris from between your teeth. If you don't know how to do this, don't worry. We'll show you everything and practice together.

  • Healthy food: Fewer sugary drinks, carbonated drinks, and sweets between meals.

  • Regular checkups: Visit your dentist at least once every six months.

Conclusion?

If you and your parents follow these tips, you can grow up without a single filling! Healthy teeth are not only beautiful, but they are also important for your overall health and well-being.
